Hosteling International was founded more than 80 years ago with a steadfast belief in the power of travel. The brand deeply believes that traveling fosters a deeper understanding of other people, their cultures, and their homes, around the world. With this in mind, when they came to us for help refreshing their brand identity, we felt that one logo would not do enough to signify the dynamic community of global citizens their brand has created over the years.
With more than 50 hostels in the United States, each with it’s own feel and environment, we set out creating a unique logo for each of them that would bring the whole brand together while celebrating the individuality of each city, town, and national park they exist in. The identities we created not only did that, but also managed to instill a sense of pride in each hostel, and drew in new visitors who wanted to explore and become of HI USA’s community.
